Timothy M. Kunau has extensive experience designing solutions that optimize data flow for critical and complex systems. The focus is to encourage rich, natural communities and move from Data to Story.
Narrative skill is supported by technical experience and academic rigor.
Enterprise strategic planning demands a holistic approach. Fire-fighting and Tactical growth are unsustainable. Critical applications require clean and consistent power, climate controlled facilities, cost-effective carrier agreements, manageable I/O cabling, reliable high-performance storage, flexible schemas, supportable middleware, as well as elegant User Interface (UI) presentation, data visualization, and consolidated monitoring. Increasingly complex IT environments will grow organically without a clear Strategic plan.
Timothy leads enterprises to craft a corporate Vision, specify Strategic objectives, and execute appropriately integrated solutions on schedule and with-in budget. These solutions include designing OLTP and datawarehouse systems, high-performance (HPC) clusters, networking and cable plants, simplifying management techniques and Service Level Agreements (SLAs), VM consolidation, application tuning, data security, and regulatory compliance.
Timothy contributes to technical industry through publications, seminars and conference lectures. His communication skills enable him to clearly articulate complex solutions to technical and non-technical audiences. Timothy has worked in high performance computing and research for over 20 years. He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Scientific Computation with an emphasis in Computational Biology, holds an M.S. in Software Engineering and Bachelors degrees in Computer Science and Philosophy.
